Introductory Rite:
God, come to my assistance R/ Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
R/ as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.

The setting sun now dies away,
and darkness comes at close of day;
your brightest beams, dear Lord, impart,
and let them shine within our heart.

We praise your name with joy this night.
Please watch and guide us till the light;
Joining the music of the blest,
Oh lord, we sing ourselves to rest

To God the Father, God the Son,
And Holy Spirit, Three in One,
Trinity blest, whom we adore,
Be praise and glory evermore.

PSALMODY

Antiphon 1:  The Lord surrounds his people with his strength.

Psalm 125

Those who put their trust in the Lord

are like Mount Zion, that cannot be shaken,

that stands for ever.

Jerusalem! The mountains surround her,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and for ever.

For the scepter of the wicked shall not rest
over the land of the just
for fear that the hands of the just
should turn to evil.

Do good, Lord, to those who are good,
to the upright of heart;
but the crooked and those who do evil,
drive them away!

On Israel, peace! Glory…

Psalm Prayer: Surround your people, Lord, within the safety of your Church, which you preserve on its rock foundation. Do not let us stretch out our hands to evil deeds, nor be destroyed by the insidious snares of the enemy, but bring us to share the lot of the saints in light.

Antiphon 1: The Lord surrounds his people with his strength.

Antiphon 2  Unless you acquire the heart of a child, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Psalm 131

O Lord, my heart is not proud

nor haughty my eyes.

I have not gone after things too great

nor marvels beyond me.

Truly I have set my soul
in silence and peace.
A weaned child on its mother’s breast,
even so is my soul.

O Israel, hope in the Lord
both now and forever. Glory…

Psalm Prayer: Lord Jesus, gentle and humble of heart, you declared that whoever receives a little child in your name receives you, and you promised your kingdom to those who are like children. Never let pride reign in our hearts, but may the Father’s compassion reward and embrace all who willingly bear your gentle yoke.

Antiphon 2  Unless you acquire the heart of a child, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.

.Antiphon 3 Lord, you have made us a kingdom and priests for God our Father.

Revelation 4:11;5-9,10,12

Worthy are you, Lord our God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

For you have created all things;
by your will they came to be and were made.

Worthy are you, O Lord
to receive the scroll and break open its seals.

For you were slain;
with your blood you purchased for God
those from every tribe and tongue,
of every people and nation.

You made them a kingdom,
and priests to serve our God,
and they shall reign on earth.”

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power and riches,
wisdom and strength,
honor and glory and praise. Glory…

Antiphon 3 Lord, you have made us a kingdom and priests for God our Father.

OPENING PRAYER (stand)
All sit for the Liturgy of the Word.
After the Homily:

INTERCESSIONS
To the eternal Word who became man to reveal to us the new and living way, let us make our humble prayer:
                    Come, Lord, and save us.
God, in whom we live and move and have our being,
 – Come and teach us that you have made us your own.
You are not far from each of us,
 – Show yourself to all who search for you.
Father of the poor and consoler of the afflicted,
 – Set captives free, give joy to those who mourn.
You hate death and love life,
 – Free all mankind from eternal death

Presider:
O God, who through your Only Begotten Son
have made us a new creation,
look kindly, we pray,
on the handiwork of your mercy,
and at your Son’s coming
cleanse us from every stain of the old way of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

(All are seated for the Liturgy of the Eucharist)

Lord’s Prayer
Pater noster, qui es in cælis
Sanctificétur nomen tuum
Advéniat regnum tuum
Fiat volúntas tua
Sicut in cælo et in terra
Panem nostrum quotidiánum da nobis hódie
Et dimítte nobis débita nostra
Sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris
Et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem
Sed libera nos a malo

MAGNIFICAT (Canticle of Mary)
Antiphon: Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near, alleluia.

(#825, Breaking Bread – Luke 1: Magnificat by Bernadette Farrell)
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord my spirit sings to God, my saving God, who on this day above all others favored me and raised me up, a light for all to see.

Through me great deeds will God make manifest, and all the earth will come to call me blest. Unbounded love and mercy sure will I proclaim for all who know and praise God #s holy name.

God s# mighty arm, protector of the just,
will guard the weak and raise them from the dust.
But mighty kings will swiftly fall from thrones corrupt. The strong brought low, the lowly lifted up.

Soon will the poor and hungry of the earth
be richly blest, be given greater worth.
And Israel, as once foretold to Abraham,
will live in peace throughout the promised land.

All glory be to God, Creator blest,
to Jesus Christ, God #s love made manifest, and to the Holy Spirit, gentle Comforter, all glory be, both now and ever more

Antiphon: Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near, alleluia.
