Let us give glory to Christ who was born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and let us pray to him:
Son of the Virgin Mary, have mercy on us.
Christ born of the Virgin Mary, you are the Wonder-Counselor and Prince of Peace,
- give your peace to the world. Our King and our God, you have raised us up by your coming
- help us to honor you all the days of our lives, by our faith and our deeds. You made yourself like us,
- in your mercy, grant that we may become more like you. You made yourself a citizen of our earthly city,
- grant that we may become citizens of our true homeland, your Kingdom in Heaven.
Presider:
O God, who through the fruitful virginity of Blessed Mary bestowed on the human race the grace of eternal salvation, grant, we pray, that we may experience the intercession of her, through whom we were found worthy to receive the author of life, our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Antiphon: Marvelous is the mystery proclaimed today: human nature is made new as God becomes man; he remains what he was and becomes what he was not. Yet each nature stays distinct and for ever undivided.

Blest be the God of Israel who comes to set us free
and raises up new hope for us: a Branch for David’s tree.
So have the prophets long declared that with a mighty arm
God would turn back our enemies and all who wish us harm
.
With promised mercy will God still the covenant recall,
the oath once sworn to Abraham from foes to save us all;
that we might worship without fear and offer lives of praise,
in holiness and righteousness to serve God all our days.
My child, as prophet of the Lord you will prepare the way,
to tell God’s people they are saved from sin’s eternal sway.
Then shall God’s mercy from on high shine forth and never cease
to drive away the gloom of death and lead us into peace.
